London, England
You might say that 4-days in London is not enough but my itinerary actually consisted of nine days in England and Amsterdam in the month of August. There was so much to see that I spent some days in areas outside of London.
Here is my total Itinerary:
Day 1 Flight from LAX to UK 10 hours 10-hour flight from LAX to Heathrow. Get the Oyster Card at a Heathrow vendor to ride the train/bus to the hotel and greater London. I also recommend getting the Citymapper app which was very useful in helping me figure out the right Tube and trains to my destination. Check in to the Wombat Hostel, rest, eat and visit the Tower Bridge and walk along the Thames Path Walk near the hostel.
Day 2 Covent Gardens, shopping, and eating (raining this day so I tried to stay indoors)
Day 3 Train to Brighton and enjoyed theUndercliff Walk. Sunny and beautiful!
Day 4 Kew Gardens – All day (fantastic!)-light rain today
Day 5,6,7 Eurostar train to Amsterdam and stay at the DoubleTree (and more comfortable bed) for the weekend.
Day 8 Back to London and the Wombat Hostel and a pleasant day visit and hike in Surrey Hills
Day 9 Last minute early walk along the Thames Path (from the Tower Bridge) and a long heartfelt look at St. Pauls Cathedral. I crossed at the Millennium Walking Bridge, which connects St. Pauls and the Tate Modern. I got lost coming back and discovered the London Bridge Borough Market. Loved it! I said a choked-up goodbye to London and went home to California.
